About Robin Maza
A Little Bit About My Journey
Back in 2005, I kicked off my career with an Associate’s degree in Massage Therapy in New York City. After getting licensed in 2007, I dove deep into perinatal care with a 30-hour certification in prenatal massage. But I wanted to do even more, so in 2009, I jumped into a four-year master’s program in Acupuncture at the Pacific College of Health Sciences in NYC. Graduating in 2013 after a ton of study (over 3,000 hours!) and hands-on practice, I was licensed and ready to go.
During my time at PCOM, I did extra training in labor and delivery acupuncture and even interned at Lutheran Hospital’s L&D unit in Brooklyn with the amazing Claudia Citkovitz, PhD, MSAc. I also trained as a doula with Debra Pascali Bonaro through DONA International and became certified in placenta encapsulation.
After getting my acupuncture license, I kept digging deeper into birth work and perinatal care, both with acupuncture and as a doula. I did more internships at Lutheran Hospital and studied with Debra Betts L.Ac., a well-known perinatal acupuncturist. These experiences, especially working with low-income families, taught me so much and showed me the incredible power of acupuncture and bodywork in promoting healthy birth outcomes.
But it’s not all about the credentials—I’m also a mom. My personal experiences with pregnancy, birth, and parenting bring a lot of empathy and understanding into my practice. I strive to create a warm, judgment-free space for everyone who comes through my door.
I can’t wait to meet you and support your health journey!
